  • Work in progress* This page will showcase the functionality of each option used in the polytrace tool.

Contextual Toolbar[edit]

The contextual toolbar gives you quick access to the most commonly used functions. The toolbar can be pinned in place and toggled open for ease of use.

Rail Type[edit]

Define the product type. Check the handover sheet and markup to determine which product should be drawn.

Offset[edit]

Set the stanchion distance from edge. Direction is determined by the direction field, use negative numbers to change direction without affecting handrail direction.

Start Type & End Type[edit]

Set the start and end conditions of the rail. Options are contextual to the product being used.

Kickplate Type[edit]

Select the kickplate type, when applicable.

Base Fitting[edit]

Choose the base plate mounting option. Refer to the handover sheet to see which base mounting type is quoted.

Add Working Points[edit]

Add additional working points to an existing polytrace component.

Add Stair Points[edit]

Define sections as a stair and position stanchions on treads.

Main Properties[edit]

Rail Type[edit]

Define the product type. Check the handover sheet and markup to determine which product should be drawn.

Rail End Type[edit]

Set the start and end conditions of the rail. Options are contextual to the product being used.

Handrail Pipe Nb[edit]

Set the pipe diameter for the handrail. Refer to the handover sheet to see which diameter is quoted.

Dimensions[edit]

Direction[edit]

Define which side the handrail appears. Left and right is determined based on the initial direction the product is traced from.

Plan Offset[edit]

Set the stanchion distance from edge. Direction is determined by the direction field, use negative numbers to change direction without affecting handrail direction.

Finish[edit]

Define the product finish and colour. Item codes will automatically update to the appropriate codes based on the finish type.

Kickplate[edit]

Panel[edit]

Panel End[edit]

Determine the end condition of the panel. panel end is independent from rail end type.

Panel Closure[edit]

Set whether a closure panel uses welded elbows or bent pipe.

Panel Rod Diameter[edit]

Choose the rod diameter used in panels.

Panel Offset[edit]

Adjust the distance panels extend from the start and end stanchion.

Panel Top / Bottom From Ground[edit]

Adjust the heights of the top and bottom of the panel, relative to the ground height.

BR Panel Fitting[edit]

Choosing the fitting used to mount panels to stanchions for Bridgerail.

Base Mounting[edit]

Base Plate Type[edit]

Choose the base plate mounting option. Refer to the handover sheet to see which base mounting type is quoted.

Base Plate Distance[edit]

Adjust the height / depth of the base plate / stanchion pipe. Not applicable to all base plate types.
