Compliance
Moddex CB10 balustrades are designed and manufactured in accordance with building regulations (NCC & BCA) Australian Standard AS/NZS 1170:2002 and relevant statutory WHS Codes of Practice/ Guidelines. Galvanized to AS 4792 and AS/ NZS 4680:2006 (where applicable).
Common compliances
- CB bottom rail must be 149mm (from the ground to the top of the pipe) on flat surfaces
- CB with handrail must comply to AS1428.1 standards and not be over 1000mm high
- All structure clearances are minimum 50mm
- CB against a wall must use new MD531 panel closures (3300's)
- When creating CB as a barrier for headwalls, all CB must be connected
- In AS1657 applications, 100x6mm toeboard is required
Design Notes
- When using any CB product on a stair stringer, we either need to use a 3070 welded baseplate or bend the stanchion pipe and use a MD232.
- When mounting to pre-drilled holes, the 3070 needs to be used, but any other time a bent post can be used.
- Our standard height systems will use 12mm rods. While our 1500mm high systems need to use 16mm and all 1800mm high need to use 20mm rods. If you are ever unsure of the rod type, you can always refer to the NeoFF or our Standard drawings for clarification.
Design tips
- The distance from center of stanchion to edge of end closure is 324.5mm
- To create a 50mm gap, insert CB 374.5mm away from wall/structure
- When designing on stair sections, always set the correct heights with the tracing menu before connecting CB
